| Polymeric Post Type Insulators - Type IPBPL BALESTRO polymeric post type insulators, series IPBPL, are manufactured for use in crossbeams of concrete or wood. Applied in electric power-line distribution, they can replace the conventional pin insulators of porcelain or glass, or the post type insulators in porcelain. Another possible application is as lamp-post type insulators in M.T. power-lines (directly affixed to the post, at a horizontal or any other angle).
The post type polymeric insulator is manufactured initially from a fiberglass rod (core) of high mechanical resistance, which is fixed to the connection tools (the lower terminal made of hot galvanized iron alloy and the upper may be of the same material or in aluminum).
Subsequently, the insulating envelope in silicone rubber is applied on this set, resulting in a compact, light insulator of great mechanical resistance and highly resistant to weather conditions. Balestro has a modern test laboratory in order to carry out routine, receiving and type tests in all its product lines, guaranteeing products of quality and reliability.
Main product advantages:
Compact dimensions, resulting in lighter insulators than the conventional ones,
reduction in manufacturing costs, transport and storage costs, and labor
installation costs, etc;
Immunity to the vandalism;;
Highly resistant to all mechanical forms of traction, flexion, torsion and impact;
Low-level of RIV;
Excellent performance in bad weather, especially in highly polluted environments,
thanks to the peculiar characteristics of the silicone envelope system, such as
hydrophobicity, which ensures high superficial resistance to the insulator even
under rainy conditions, avoiding the formation of continuous water films, dry
channels and arcs on the surface of the insulator, maintaining hydrophobicity even
under polluting conditions;
Especially suitable for coastal strips; where it reduces the maintenance costs of
powerlines and the frequency of cleaning;
Molded in a single piece, guaranteeing excellent hermeticity, preventing the ingress
of water or residues inside the insulators, increasing their useful life;
